Good food, good service and the atmosphere is like most diners. Its clean and everyone is very friendly. Table, booths and counter seating with a good size back addition for when its busy. I found out the "day's special board" includes sides that arent on the regular menu, so you can add any of those that are still available to your sides choices.
The young man that took our order was so warm and inviting over the phone, highly informative and was so patient with me as I stumbled through the ordering process. Then the food was exceptional. So happy we chose Skips. Thank you for making Valentine's Day a special one.
Skips has always been a great place to eat. Home town food and atmosphere. Eat alone or with family and friends. The staff is awsome and very helpful. There were three of us on my last visit and for all of us to have full meals (breakfast) it was only 25. The best pancakes ever, they actually taste like birthday cake. Highly recommend if visiting the area. I have recommended Skips to visitors and the were not disappointed.
Favorite meal is the catfish with fried okra and corn nuggets. The blackberry cobbler was a little underwhelming. It's ok but nothing I would want to spend my money on. Hard to beat the price of the catfish meal though!
Skips Restaurant deserves nothing LESS THAN 5 ’s NO DOUBT! Absolutely outstanding service and food! This is a very respected and well loved restaurant in the Winchester community. It is a great place to come if you’re looking for some southern hospitality and home cooking! Extremely affordable and very friendly staff that makes your stay there nothing less than memorable and pleasant!
I went here for the first time 4/5/2025 and I Loved it. It had that Old Time Country Diner feel. People were actually having conversations over a meal instead of sitting on their cell phones and the atmosphere was so warm and friendly.
Found this place by Accident looking for a breakfast place while traveling on 64 Hwy in Tennessee. Excellent food, excellent southern service! The is very good as well!
The food was delicious and the servers were so nice. 10/10 experience. Would recommend and will be back.
